Semsem Cookie Policy

1. What are cookies

Cookies are small text files stored in your browser. Semsem uses them strictly to keep you signed in, manage security, and remember a small amount of in-app preference state. We do not use cookies for advertising or cross-site tracking.

2. Cookies we use

Semsem sets exactly three cookies. All are first-party (set by Semsem itself, not a third party) and are restricted to browsers signed in to the Service:

• session: Keeps you signed in (a Firebase session credential). This allows the Service to recognize you securely between page loads. (Category: Strictly necessary / Duration: 7 days)
• userRole: Records your account role (e.g., owner, vet, staff) so page access can be verified efficiently. (Category: Strictly necessary / Duration: 7 days)
• selectedClinicId: Remembers which clinic you are currently viewing, for accounts that manage multiple clinics. (Category: Functional / Duration: Session-scoped)

These cookies are only set once you initiate the sign-in process. Visitors browsing public pages without an account do not receive them.

3. What we do NOT use

Semsem does not use analytics cookies, advertising/retargeting cookies, or any third-party tracking scripts. Because our cookies are strictly necessary for the core functionality and security of the Service, explicit consent banners are not legally required. If we introduce non-essential cookies in the future, this policy will be updated, and appropriate consent mechanisms will be implemented in accordance with applicable laws.

4. Third parties that may set their own cookies

Some pages may embed or redirect to third-party services as part of using Semsem — specifically our payment processor, Moyasar, during checkout. These services operate independently and may set their own cookies under their own privacy policies. We encourage you to review Moyasar’s privacy policy for details on their data practices.

5. Managing cookies

Because Semsem’s cookies are strictly necessary to authenticate and operate the Service, blocking or deleting them will sign you out and prevent the Service from functioning correctly. However, most web browsers allow you to view, delete, or block cookies through their settings if you choose to do so.

We may update this Cookie Policy if our cookie practices change. We will update the "Last updated" date above when we do.
